Knee Pain
Knee pain, swelling, and instability can prevent a person from getting back to work and sports.
Pain and problems of the knee, such as meniscus tears, ACL tears, and knee arthritis, are some of the most common problems we treat at the Knee Institute at ORTHOKnox in Knoxville and Athens, Tennessee. Dr. David Hovis provides patients with proper evaluation and management.
Dr. David Hovis also believes in treating each patient as unique individuals. He also opts for the most conservative treatment methods whenever possible. For example, if surgery is not necessary, Dr. David Hovis may prescribe rest, activity modification, and/or physical therapy to help restore your strength and motion.
Surgery may be recommended for unstable joints, a completely torn ligament, or significantly damaged structures within the knee.
Knee Surgery
Thanks to technological advancements in knee surgery, such as arthroscopic surgery and minimally invasive partial and total knee replacements, our surgical patients are able to return to their usual activities and active lifestyles as quickly as possible. These advancements also mean much less post-op pain and scarring, as well as a lowered risk of complications during or after surgery.
At the Knee Institute at ORTHOKnox, Dr. David Hovis has fellowship training in sports medicine and knee surgery. His goal is to quickly return every patient to the lifestyle and activities they love.
